Tourism is blooming as Kahuzi Biega National Park goes beyond 100 visitors a month

Tourists visiting Lowland Gorillas

We are proud to announce that 106 visitors travelled to Kahuzi Biega to see the eastern lowland gorillas in August. This is a large increase compared to August 2011, which had only 62 visitors. A majority of visitors had less than an hour of walking through the forest before coming across the gorillas.

Visitors come from USA, Asia, Europe, Scandinavia and Australia. Many Congolese were also among the visitors. They come from a wide variety of backgrounds including students, retirees, researchers and newlyweds.
